In 19.15, tm has a bug that prevents mh-invisible-headers from working. Basically, tm does evil things, like redefining mh-display-msg in an incompatible way (mh-invisible-headers is *IGNORED* in tm's version of mh-display-msg). I don't know about 20.2, but here's a patch for 19.15 (apply it to lisp/tm/tm-mh-e.el).

John has unfortunately omitted this necessary information: you do need to have at least three pages in the document/template before you can see all three headers. Although manual page breaks are a no-no in finished documents, they are very useful in such cases for temporarily creating extra pages.

If you want OE to predict which headers you want to read and those you don't want to read, sorry, that's not possible. If you read posts in chronological order and wish to mark everything "read" up to a certain date/time, just sort the posts by "sent" and then select the whole block, and mark them "read.
